SEBRING — Like torpedoes in the water. The Sebring Blue Streaks swim team lived up to their reputation during the Class 2A-District 7 Swimming finals on Friday, sending 18 individual swimmers to the Region 3 finals. "I'm thrilled to be sending eighteen to regionals," said head girls coach Pat Caton. "It's one more than last year, so it's progress." Head boys coach Cheryl Parsons agreed, adding, "It was hard with the boys getting disqualified in a couple of relays, but they swam really hard and I'm proud." ...more

AVON PARK –– A clean sweep. The Sebring High School swimming and diving teams displayed depth and talent in winning the boys and girls titles in Thursday's four-team meet in Avon Park. The Blue Streak girls finished the meet with 197 points followed by Lakeland Christian with 185, Avon Park had 102 and Frostproof finished with 52. The Sebring boys finished first with 204, while Avon Park claimed second with 138, followed by Frostproof with 131 and Lakeland Christian came in fourth with 24. ...more
