Well folks, if you were non-believers before March 7, surely you have been converted. I'm referring to the front page of this paper on the above mentioned date. The headline? "Operation Hot Milk." It reported illegals stealing canned baby formula from merchants here in Florida and sending it out of the state for resale. This little operation was costing the merchants here in this state some $2,500 per year. ...more

This is a quote from the Tampa Tribune on Sept. 24. It came from the mouth of Karen Peoples, who has been the Tampa Housing Authority Commissioner since 1998 and she has, by this article, lived in this residence since 1984. The rent payment Ms. Peoples was responsible for was a mere $26 per month and the article states she was $58 in arrears. She stated she had nowhere to go. The article stated that the authority had been trying to work with Ms. Peoples since January. They offered to relocate her from her four-bedroom house to a one bedroom apartment at three different housing properties. She refused each offer, because it would have taken her out of her East Tampa neighborhood she calls home. ...more

In response to "On The Look-Out," from Jan. 2, in which Mr. Ludacer condemns the Patriot Act. I applaud his time spent with the U.S. Navy, but as one veteran to another, let's keep the terrorist guessing. As I see with the Patriot Act, one has nothing to be concerned about if one has nothing to hide. We need to keep the enemy on the run. One way is to tap his phone conversations. Let's hope that the left is not successful in defeating this tool we now have in place. ...more

This is in response to a letter dated Dec. 31, titled "Combat Veterans." It never fails. Let something good come along and some liberal with his hand out will foul it up. This war is different from the others we have known in our time, with the exception of the Kamikazes of World War II. They, too, were driven by religion. The other wars have always been on other shores. This one began on our lands, or have we forgotten Sept. 11, 2001? During World War II, the press was on our side. In Vietnam, the politicians took over and turned that war over to the enemy, who now admits that we had them defeated, but for the bad press. ...more
