SEBRING — A Pompano Beach man remained in Highlands County Jail without bond on a charge of grand theft in connection with the theft of iPods from the Sebring Wal-Mart store on April 6. Arthur Davis, 40, also known as James Johnson, John Davis, Richard Rod, Richard Macon, Richard Davis, Arthur Davis Jr., James Davis, Davis Arthur and June Davis, was booked into jail on a single count of grand theft $5,000 or more but less than $10,000. According to the arrest report, Davis and three unnamed female suspects entered the store just after midnight on April 6. According to video surveillance, they four went to the electronics department. The male suspect, later identified as Davis, fiddled with the iPod display case, and then opened it. The suspect then took some iPods and put them in a bag in a shopping cart, the report stated. The females reportedly acted as lookouts. ...more
