SEBRING – There seems to be quite a bit of commercial office space available in the area, but not at the refurbished Wachovia Bank building in Sebring. Nearly all of the space in the 32,840 square-foot building located next to Burger King has been leased. That's good news for Jimmy and Jeri Wohl and Martha and David Hatch. The couples, who are partners in 3200 Properties LLC, took ownership of the building last August. "We're just real happy to be about full not even a year into ownership," David Hatch said. The two couples have spent several thousand dollars on the building, which was built in 1998 by Thomas Wohl and had damage on the third and fourth floors from Hurricane Charley in 2004. ...more

SEBRING — A Sebring man remained in Highlands County Jail in lieu of $11,000 bond, after he was arrested, accused of paying Duck's Body Shop with bad checks to get his car back, as well as ABC Appliance for merchandise there. Raymond "Ray" Paul Hartley, 24, of 306 Swallow Ave., was booked Wednesday on charges of grand theft $300 or more but less than $5,000 and two counts of fraud - insufficient funds – obtaining goods or services in return for a worthless check $150 or more. His bond was set at $8,000 on those charges. ...more
