Evemarie Lewin has been feeling boxed in about where she can mail her letters in West Pasco. Recently it seemed to her that more and more of the big blue outdoor boxes have been vanishing from area streets. Whether the outdoor box has a standard flip-down lid or a "snorkel" horn chute, Lewin finds them to be much more convenient than going inside post office lobbies to drop off her mail. ...more

Sheriff's investigators are looking into what they believe are related incidents of vandalism in the Lake Padgett Estates neighborhood. The latest to report damage is Robert Lovering, a lieutenant with the Tampa Police Department who lives in the neighborhood. Lovering told a Pasco County Sheriff's Office deputy that someone used golf balls to dent the front of his police vehicle while it was parked outside his house Sunday morning. ...more

TARPON SPRINGS -- Police and Cycadia Cemetery officials would like to know who stole a 75-pound marble sphere from atop a monument in the municipal graveyard. The 71-year old marker that was vandalized is a memorial to Viola Keeney Beekman. She donated property to start the cemetery in 1887. ...more
