I see lots of complaints about different things but few solutions are offered. Here are a few answers that I think would help. First and foremost, the country must have a value-added tax. This would stop a lot of jobs from leaving the country and may even bring some back. Next, cut out all foreign aid. The economy is the big question in the U.S.A. Why not adopt the movement made by F.D.R. in the late 1920s; CCC camps (Civilian Conservation Corps.) It helped then and we sure could use it now. As you travel up and down the East Coast, if you look you will see bridges and roads made by the CCC group. I don't believe unemployment was in effect at this time. ...more
