Thank you Mr. Ludacer for serving as a U.S. Navy radar observer and currently as a self -appointed lookout to express your concerns about things you feel could endanger our country; specifically you're repetitious letters condemning the "Patriot Act." Time changes everything including our methods of defense. I think everyone would agree that a good form of covert intelligence, if it were available then, would have been a much more effective defense than radar or lookouts, even as far back as the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. ...more

With the first-quarter moon occuring last Monday at 10:18 a.m., the daytime bite today and Thursday should prove to be better than it has been the last few weeks. Barometric pressure forecasts predict a steady gradual drop over the next four days, and this means fish feeding migration increases in duration and intensity during the weather pattern. On Monday, the barometric pressure reached 30.32 inches of mercury (inHg), causing fish to migrate to deeper areas for longer periods. SEBRING — Yeah, yeah, yeah. Spring forward, fall back. We all get an extra hour of sleep. But some folks, like Richard Duvigneaud, would be more pleased if the federal government would just quit fooling around with the time. "Since you asked, I detest Daylight-Savings Time," said Duvigneaud, of Sebring. "It adds more time to peoples' evenings in summer, where it should stay. "The extension to daylight-savings time is ridiculous," he said. Starting in 2007, the federal Energy Policy Act extended DST a month, beginning on the second Sunday in March and ending on the first Sunday in November, instead of the last Sunday in October. ...more
