SEBRING — The toughest thing the Sebring Americans have had to deal with this weekend is the heat. But running around the bases again and again never seems to get tiring for the eight-and-under group, which won twice on Saturday to remain the only undefeated team after the second round the Dixie Youth Pitching Machine District 8 All-Star Tournament at Max Long Recreational Complex. The District 11 champion Riverdale baseball team wasn't about to be swept on its home field. The Raiders strung together 13 hits and knocked around five Sebring pitchers to earn a 10-2 victory over the Blue Streaks in the second game of a Class 4A Regional final series on Friday night at Riverdale High School. The series now shifts to a do-or-die third game, which will decide who moves on to the state final four next week in Sarasota. SEBRING - When the Sebring baseball team reached the state's final four in 2007, it had been more than 40 years since its last appearance. After a 2-0 victory over Bartow on Friday night, the Blue Streaks are one step away from accomplishing the same feat for the second year in a row.
