After reading still another diatribe by our local Democrat sycophant Mr. Geouque, I find myself obliged to reply to his obviously partisan statements. First: "that the economy is essentially sound." Yes it is. ...more

John McCain, the Republican candidate, is fond of asking, Who is Barack Obama? Let's turn that question on him. Various media outlets and pundits talk about what an honorable man Sen. McCain is. I say evidence is quite to the contrary. ...more

The charge has been made that the election of Senator Obama would result in a redistribution of wealth in this country. In my opinion we have just witnessed the greatest redistribution of wealth, all to the top, since the beginning of the 20th century and with the same result. We are now in a full-blown recession with the distinct possibility of descending into a depression. With the economy in the worst condition since 1930, take a good look at the advisors the presidential candidates have chosen. In the case of Senator McCain, his top economic advisor is Doug Holz Eakins. Mr. Eakins served as chief economist for President George W. Bush. The stated purpose of the tax cuts passed by the Bush administration was to create jobs. Unfortunately for us, most of the jobs were created in China, India, Mexico and not here in the United States. WASHINGTON - This time, John McCain kept Barack Obama on the defensive. The feisty Republican tried hard to find a lifeline Wednesday night, challenging his Democratic rival at every turn over his truthfulness, associations and record. By that measure, McCain won the last debate of the 2008 campaign. But that may not be enough. ...more

Obama Was Winner There is no doubt in my mind who won Tuesday night's debate. Obama was articulate, showed a greatly improved maturity since the beginning of the campaign, and was specific in answering the questions with a point-by-point explanation of his solutions. ...more
