The Tanglewood Actors Guild (TAG) certainly appreciated the story about "Nunsense" by Joe Seelig in Highlands Today. The following did stellar work on "Nunsense:" director Joe Morano, musical director Ruth Ann Esseltine and choreographer Margaret Updike. The nuns: Barb Snyder, Suzanne Schilffarth, Sandy Radawiec, Erma Anderson and Carol Amrein worked countless hours to master the singing, dance steps and acting requirements of this challenging musical. LAKE PLACID A Lake Placid man was free on $1,500 bail Friday after he was stopped by Lake Placid Police for a defective brake light and it was discovered the Toyota Camry he was driving was stolen from West Palm Beach. Police also discovered marijuana hidden in a Barbasol shaving cream can with a false bottom, according to the arrest report. David Jonathan Adams, 20, of 1239 County Road 29, was charged with possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana and grand theft auto. A rear male passenger seen fidgeting about where the shaving cream can was found was also arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less than 20 grams. SEBRING A Sebring man was free Friday on $3,000 bail, while his step-son remained in Highlands County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond, after a verbal argument over the use of a home computer got out of hand and turned violent, according to Sebring police. The 36-year-old step-dad was charged with domestic violence related battery, a misdemeanor. Marcus Wayne Devries, 18, was charged with third-degree felony battery or domestic violence battery by strangulation. Police reported they were called at about 11:55 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a domestic violence fight in progress. ...more

A Naples man remained in Highlands County Jail in lieu of $37,250 bond Tuesday after he was charged in connection with the burglary of two homes, hiding in a boat and theft of a golf cart. Scott M. MacDonald, 25, of 4180 Golden Gate Blvd., was booked on charges of two counts of burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, burglary of a structure or conveyance, criminal mischief, third-degree theft of a vehicle, petty theft and resisting a law enforcement officer without violence. ...more
