Monday night, Tarpon Springs Planning and Zoning Board members John Tarapani and William Vinson wisely chose to honor a request from a Wal-Mart attorney that they not take part in the board's deliberations on proposed changes in the development for the retailer's proposed store on U.S. 19. LAKE PLACID — Eight grove owners north of town have banded together in a bid to trade oranges for homes. At Monday's meeting, a professional urban planner presented town council with preliminary plans that call for the eventual construction of 4,600 homes on 1,500 acres.
