BRANDON - An idea that formed two years ago as a simple sketch has reached 27,000 square feet of reality for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office's Training Division. The agency unveiled its new facility today at 1409 N. Falkenburg Road. Last year, county commissioners approved buying the 59,000-square-foot Pinebrooke Business Park to be split and developed as new offices for the Training Division and Child Protective Investigations Division, which began operating from there in January. ...more

SEBRING — As Jhonson Napoleon stood on a pile of rumble and trash Wednesday afternoon in the Nan-Ces-O-Wee Hotel, he admitted he has a lot of work ahead of him. "This is the biggest renovation project I've ever taken on," said Napoleon, who purchased the hotel Sept. 28. "But I see a diamond in the rough here. I picture what it will be when it's done, and I see a great asset for Sebring." Napoleon, a Haiti native who now lives in Miami, spent Wednesday interviewing contractors, walking them through the building and talking about his future plans. West Tampa Little League has been in the past the home to players such as Fred McGriff, Tino Martinez, Lou Piniella, Tony La Russa and Luis Gonzalez.
