I am amazed at how this country can elect a man who has documented ties to domestic terrorists, radical spiritual leaders who preached hate of any other race except that of African-Americans, corrupt real estate developers, the support of Hamas, and one who has also guaranteed to take your earnings and give them to someone too lazy to work. ...more

SEBRING — New houses are beginning to spring up in Sebring's newest housing subdivision not far from Sebring High School, providing needed jobs and a quality home for average folks needing a house. Part of the subdivision will be solely for workforce affordable housing with state financing assistance, for those who qualify. One hundred and 50 homes will be built over the next 18 months in this gated community, with 50 available only to people who qualify for the state's Community Workforce Innovative Pilot Program. Better known as "CWHIP," the program gives working people in vital jobs, with income limits, at least $50,000 and, in some cases, $60,000 off the price of these new homes. ...more

LAKE PLACID — Eight grove owners north of town have banded together in a bid to trade oranges for homes. At Monday's meeting, a professional urban planner presented town council with preliminary plans that call for the eventual construction of 4,600 homes on 1,500 acres. Ground breaking for the proposed development, which stretches from the railroad bridge northeast to the shores of Lake Apthorpe, and on both sides of U.S. 27, is at least four years away, according to planner Augie Fragala, of Powell, Fragala & Associates Inc. ...more
