4A-D10 BASEBALL: Sebring 13, Avon Park 3

Sebring's Cody Hoffner went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored and Dustin Lang earned the win with 4 1/3 innings of solid pitching to lead the Blue Streaks to a 13-3, five-inning victory over Avon Park in the Class 4A-District 10 semifinal at Firemen's Field on Thursday night. The win moves Sebring into the district finals against Braden River at 7 p.m. on Friday, while the loss ended the season for Avon Park and Coach Mort Jackson, who is stepping down after 22 years as head coach of the Red Devils. ...more

Dragons Step Past Devils

Logan Smith is looking forward to his next trip to the mall. "It's always nice to beat someone from the county," said Smith after he went 2-for-2 with a double, sacrifice fly and two RBI to lead the LP baseball team to a 6-3 victory over Avon Park on the second day of the Bill Jarrett Spring Break Tournament at Scarborough Field.
