I have heard and read so many political pundits and mainstream media types stating the Democratic Party must rephrase its message to sway voters back into the fold. Nothing could be further from the truth. ...more

Our son Nick was on Flight 253 from Amsterdam, coming home for Christmas after four months at sea, to be with his family. We thank God that the bomb this scum bag was carrying didn't detonate and that our son arrived safely the next day. This was truly a Christmas to be thankful for! Thinking about what could have been is made more difficult by the political issues being made of the "attempted murder" of our son and 277 other men, women and children. One thing is for sure, this is one sick world we're living in today! ...more

Some political pundits have said that if it were not for his last name, he might have been the Republican nominee for president this year. But former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush tells me he is happy to support the McCain-Palin ticket, which he predicts, perhaps predictably, will win. Of Gov. Sarah Palin, he says, "She has generated so much enthusiasm, which was the one element of the campaign that was completely missing." ...more

You've got to give it to Barack Obama. He took the bait and ran with it, scoring some valuable political mileage abroad. But the question is -- do Americans really care that the Germans and the French love Obama -- enough to give him a ticket to the White House? That remains to be seen. ...more
