Randy Ludacer wrote an excellent piece on the price of war. I would like to add a few comments. A few months back a writer wrote that we should Google 9-11 and remember why we are at war and who is protecting us. I did just that. Until I started this research, I was just like most Americans, thinking it was terrorists. I no longer believe the official story. There are reams of information that prove a cover-up on the part of the Bush administration. I researched both sides, the conspiracy side and the debunking the side. Common sense and facts won out and I am convinced that there is a cover-up. Before you label me a liberal Bush basher, I am a conservative; I supported Bush in both elections. ...more

The Republicans had control of Congress for over 12 years and were responsible in committee for oversight; checks and balances for the three branches is the basis. Yet Americans are on the verge of destruction in many areas that cried for oversight. From bank and mortgage fraud and infusing taxpayer dollars into the stock market for speculators and profiteers I am reminded of the big crash of years ago. Scandal and thievery has rocked Congress because those Republicans and senators got greedy. Taxpayers are bailing out Bears and Sterns now Indy-Mac, Freddy-Mac and Fannie-Mae are all in line for money as a result of oversight. World-Com, and Enron used creative accounting to destroy those companies and Republicans did nothing; corruption, gifts, payoffs and bribes will continue to surface. ...more

Does anyone still have their lights on? We can no longer support the security of the entire world. "Rich Uncle" is in serious financial trouble. We can no longer finance the bases we have all over the world, many as long as 60 years. The Military Industrial Complex is costing millions of dollars each and every day, millions we no longer have. ...more

We are aiding economies worldwide from the many military bases we have all over the world. The president now wishes to build another base in Iraq. Some of those who are running in 2008 support this same policy. We must have congressional over sight on the military industrial complex. We must close many bases overseas, many over 50 years old. These many bases could just as well be located in the United States, aiding the states where they are relocated. ...more
