AVON PARK – A Pennsylvania man who has family ties to Avon Park is building a commercial center in the northern part of the city. Construction has begun on Watters Commerce Plaza, which is located on 3 1/2 acres near U.S. 27 and Stratford Road. A 6,000-square-foot building will built in Phase 1, according to Bryan Weil, project coordinator for New South Development. The pre-engineered building is expected to be completed this spring, Weil said. Owner Roy Watters will occupy most of the space in the building, where he will store safes.
