A mix of emotions was evident over the weekend as parents, guardians, family members and friends gathered for one of the most significant events in a young person's life – graduating from high school. Joy, relief, sadness, excitement were no doubt felt among the approximately 700 seniors in Highlands County's three public high schools during graduation ceremonies. SEBRING — About 700 seniors will don caps and gowns and proud parents will witness an important milestone in their child's life as the three county public high schools hold graduation ceremonies this weekend. Avon Park High School's graduation ceremony will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, in the South Florida Community College Auditorium. The school has 214 graduating seniors. Valedictorian Michelle Caibio will speak at the ceremony and Salutatorian Casey McKibben, who will be out of town, will present his speech by video recording. Class President Olivia Seaser will offer a class history. Sebring High School's graduation ceremony will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday, at Firemens Field.
