MURDOCK –– The Sebring football team didn't want to leave the field and were in no hurry to take off their uniforms after dismantling Port Charlotte 41-14 in the season finale on Friday night. "I'm a little upset," Blue Streak senior wide receiver Sam Robinson said over the din of a raucous locker room. "We're a good team and we're not going to the playoffs. "We started the season off a little slow, but we picked it up, never quit, stayed together as a family and we're going out winners." The win was the third consecutive for the Class-3A Blue Streaks, who ended the season at 6-4, and earned their third winning season in four years under coach Jared Hamlin. ...more

Xavier Lee's erratic career at Florida State took another turn Monday when FSU coach Bobby Bowden suspended the fourth-year junior quarterback for two games. Lee will continue to practice but he will not travel to road games at Boston College and Virginia Tech, forcing the Seminoles to rely on redshirt freshmen De'Vontrey Richardson and Christian Ponder if starter Drew Weatherford should get hurt. ...more

RUSKIN — The Lennard football team didn't have high expectations heading into this season. A first-year program at a second-year school, the Longhorns simply hoped to compete in their University of Texas-inspired uniforms this season, let alone pick up a victory or two.
