SEBRING – The Avon Park boys soccer team didn't walk off the field making excuses or blaming their season on anything but inexperience of soccer players who are finally learning to play as a team. "We played hard out there, especially in the second half," said Avon Park senior Sergio Durand. "This team was finally starting to gel and come together toward the end of the season. "But this time, he was on the sideline yelling at his guys — I think we were some kind of threat to them tonight." Sebring junior Pedro Gori scored two second-half goals to pace the Streaks, who had their chances in the first half but couldn't finish against AP keeper Arnaud Louis. Gori said his team came out "non-chalant." ...more

"It was a nice win after getting blown out by Avon Park on Monday night," said Lake Placid coach Shonda Legree. "I brought up four girls from junior varsity to give us some depth, and it paid off. "We got all the girls in the game to get some experience and came away with a big district win."
