Of course Michael Vick should get a second chance, but not in the NFL. Can you imagine the signs that would be held up in the stands during a game? I don't believe Michael's return to the NFL would be in the best interest of sportsmanship for others to follow. He could go into the Canadian Football League. As one who has preached the gospel for over 40 years, I could not agree more with Dean Johnson's letter of Dec. 6 concerning global warming. Dean writes: "God controls the world's temperature not man. God controls the climate, the earth's eco-system and our environment, not man. Dean questions why evangelical Christians are caught up in trying to save the earth. I also question that. The one verse of Scripture, known by more people than any other, is John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life." The word "world" does not refer to the planet earth but "people." God has called Christians to save people from their sins not to save this earth. ...more

Just a reminder, now is the time to be listening to presidential forums and debates, so we can be as informed as possible. Through prayer, listening and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we can be prepared to know how to vote when Election Day comes. Do remember to pray that God will send us godly candidates who will seek His will as they guide this great country. Let us all remember that each of us have a responsibility for our nation. The Bible tells us to watch as well as pray. As I watched a Republican presidential forum on channel three, I was encouraged by several of their platforms.
