With illegal immigration and undocumented workers being among the hot-button issues of the day, there's no telling when the government might decide it's time for a crackdown. Whether a business owner thinks "illegals" are that big of a problem, no business owner wants it to become their problem. "This is one of the issues they're talking about in Congress," a local business law attorney, Debora Ann Diaz, said. "Maybe we don't have an illegal alien problem, maybe we just need to enforce what we have in existence." ...more

So here it is Sunday morning in Florida and time has run out. A presidential primary isn't the beginning or end of the world, but in Florida it's at least a warning, like the signs of a tropical disturbance out in the Atlantic of storms just beyond the horizon. ...more

The out-sourcing and the hiring of illegals, the hiring of guest workers, have all caused a decline of America's wage scale, and is directly the cause of our collapsed economy. Our young men and women who are fighting this illegal war in Iraq will be very upset when this war is brought to a close and they come home to a job market that has been filled with illegals and guest workers. There will be many thousands of unemployed veterans who will not take kindly to not being able to get jobs that they feels should be theirs. The Democrats are unwilling to debate illegal immigration, and guest workers who are not needed when we have a declining economy. If they are unwilling to represent the American working class, then the next president will more than likely be Mitt Romney, who has taken a strong stand on illegals and guest workers, and to take a look at all the "unfair trade deals." ...more

The illegal workers are basically taking over this country with the help of the bleeding hearts and the inability of our government to stop this invasion. I have a friend that just closed his concrete and block laying business and went north to take a job that he could not find here. He had been in business for several years and is a born and bred American employing about 12 people. He is now out of business and having to change his life and his family's lives because of immigration. Our system is based on free enterprise and it is no longer a level playing field when people come to this country and are willing to live in Third World conditions, and willing to take a low wage from unscrupulous employers. ...more

SEBRING — Love Hillary or hate her, Sen. Clinton's name was on everyone's lips. Likely voters in the presidential primary were interviewed Friday morning at Lakeshore Mall. Clinton has turned into a politician well known by her first name. "I haven't really honed-in on anyone," said Francis Carson, a registered non-partisan who's from upstate New York. "But it won't be Hillary. "I like Obama, I just don't think he's got the experience," Carson said. He winters in Lake Placid because, unlike his home state Lake Placid, the Florida lake gets no snow. Harold Hoxit, also of Lake Placid, feels just the opposite about Clinton. "I haven't made up my mind, exactly, but I like Hillary. She's a Democrat for one thing, and I like her husband. He did a good job while he was in there, and I think she would too. I think it's time for a change." ...more
