After reading the article about U.S. Sen. Mel Martinez and his efforts to raise money for the 2010 election, I have come up with a suggestion for him and all other politicians with the same problem. Why don't they just focus on doing a good job now. If they were to do the job of serving the people successfully, then they would be re-elected no matter how much money they have or don't have. All the millions they spend bombarding us with ads filled with lies, mud slinging and empty promises, could then be spent on more important things, like people. ...more

Since my father-in-law started this business back in 1959, there has been many a letter from our customers thanking us for quality service, friendly staff, and for being honest with them. Each and every one of these letters we have treasured. Well, the tables have been turned on us this month. Now it is my turn to say thank you. Recently Charles, owner of Cooper and Son Inc., had to have quadruple bypass surgery in Orlando. It was totally unexpected for all of us, especially Charles. We had expected a stent but not a major "overhaul" on his system. To make matters worse, after returning home from a near perfect operation, complications set in and we were faced with another stay in the hospital locally. ...more
