Kudos to the Alan Jay employee in the letter regarding Flare Road and Fountain Plaza. It is so inconsiderate of those coming out of the parking lot in front of the Highlands Today office and blocking both lanes of traffic to anyone trying to either turning south on U.S. 27 or going straight across U.S. 27. ...more

Highlands Today will never be the same. For that matter, neither will Sebring and Lake Placid. On Aug. 1, one of Highlands Today's most prolific letter writers passed away after a long drawn out battle with leukemia. He put up one heck of a fight while maintaining a positive outlook. ...more

I have always been and still am amazed at the intelligence and command of the language of young Suzannah Beiner. However, I hope that she has learned a lesson in the column she wrote in the Aug. 5 edition of Highlands Today. She berated the media for not clamoring for more to be done to release Laura Ling and Euna Lee. She stated "What is Ban Ki Moon's proposal, what does Hilary Clinton think, when will Obama stop dancing around and ask for some real results?" ...more
