I am sending a thank you to those who helped with the Chalk Contest that was held at the Highlands Art League on May 2, to award a scholarship to the Kids Kamp. Anne Watson was the glue that held it together when I had to go out of town and Linda Schneider, my co-worker became ill. Pamela Jay Paralikis, Mary Boutellier and Jan Augenstein jumped in to help make it a success for the children. Thank you ladies for your genuine enthusiasm in promoting art for our children. Corvette 3 Racing Team members Jan Magnussen, left, Antonio Garcia, center and Johnny O' Connell gave the big wheel its first spin at Wednesday's Hairpin Spin event, presented by the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring race. A number of prizes were available for attendees to win. The event was held at Four Points by Sheraton hotel next to Sebring International Raceway. A large chocolate fountain and assorted goodies for dipping were just a few of the finger foods available for snacking on. All proceeds from the event were benefitting the Highlands Art League, the Humane Society of Highlands County, the Children's Services Foundation of Highlands County and the Sebing Sports Car Racing Hall of Fame. ...more
