We had two major talent events going at once, The Highlands Little Theatre production of "Fiddler on the Roof" as well as the finale of Heartland Idol. Both were outstanding and I have sympathy for anyone who missed either of them. "Fiddler on the Roof" was flat outstanding. If Broadway scouts ever saw Pete Pollard in action it is my feeling that he would not be living in Sebring, but in New York. ...more

Wow! Who says there is nothing to do in the Heartland? Last week was a busy week. First we started out with the Florida Flywheeler's 14th annual fall fuel up. Then there are not enough words to praise the Highlands Little Theatre's production of "Fiddler on the Roof," it was just terrific. ...more

I recently put a letter in Highlands Today requesting some help for a project that would put people to work. Let me tell you the response I got. I sent a letter to Governor Crist asking for his support. To my surprise the phone rang at work. It was one of his aides that called me and said if I needed any help to call him. Someone else also called to volunteer their time for writing grants. So that's two good things we got. ...more
