As an employee of Florida Hospital, I would sincerely like to thank the Quality Inn for their hospitality during the anthrax scare last Thursday, April 2. All employees of Florida Hospital who showed up for work early Thursday morning were denied access to the hospital campus. The deputies instructed us to meet at the Quality Inn where we would be informed as to what was taking place. The Quality Inn staff on duty was very polite and professional. They provided conference rooms for us to use and free coffee and breakfast to all the employees who were present. It's very heartwarming to see that during a crisis people can and will pull together to help one another out. ...more

It seems the Ben and Jerry's ice cream shop at the mall closed five weeks ago leaving area voters without their free scoop of ice cream for voting.
