Mr. David Majick wrote a rebuttal article pertaining to the question of America having an oil shortage. In his reference to my article questioning an oil shortage, he also referenced Mr. Lindsey Williams and his views that the North Slope of Alaska has enough oil to last us 200 years. I do not know if Alaska holds enough oil to last America 200 years but I do know that we are shipping that oil out of America. ...more

The news that a Tampa alternative fuel corporation wants to build an ethanol plant in Venus is interesting. At first glance, it seems like a good deal for Highlands County by creating more jobs and allowing the county to get more involved in the renewable energy industry. It also could be beneficial to local growers.
