The state has taken away "public transportation" for Medicare recipients, to help reduce our taxes. If you are on Medicaid you can receive it, but if you're on Medicare, there is no more funding for it, and you just don't need it. That must be their theory? My daughter, who has a progressive crippling disease, was recently denied transportation for a "follow- up" appointment, two days after she had cataract surgery. I have spent two days phoning all over the state without any results. She has to have another cataract removed, which involves two appointments again, and three other appointments before the year's end. ...more
