For example, the elimination of the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) would save 25 million middle class families nearly $60 billion in a single year. McCain would double the personal exemption for dependents from $3,500 to $7,500. McCain would maintain the income and investment tax rates at their current level, which is the key to insuring economic growth of small business and entrepreneurs. McCain would allow for immediate deductions on the purchase of equipment (rather than depreciation over several years.) This will spur new jobs and innovation.
