We think we would all agree that it is great that the election is finally over. It is a long day for the workers at the polls, starting at 6 a.m. and ending after 8 p.m., plus there are several schools and meetings that we must attend before every election. The workers of Precinct 5, the Sebring Hills Club House, would like to publicly thank Sonny's Real Pit Barbecue, Brenda Brady and her staff, for providing us with a delicious meal both on Primary day in August and again on Election Day. LAKE PLACID –– Making a move up the ladder. That's what Bill and Barbara Lockwood did by finishing first in Saturday's Heartland Couples Golf tournament at Placid Lakes Country Club. The Lockwood's shot a 71 in the two-person scramble format over the demanding Placid Lakes Country Club course, while the talented duo of Rodney and Lisa Davis also carded a 1-under-par 71. A tiebreaker was required to decide first place in the 14-team event, and the Lockwood's won the Gross Division with a score of four on the third hole, while the Davis' carded a five. ...more
