Since President Obama took office, all you hear from those that didn't want him as president is that he's the blame for the high jobless rate, companies going under and our large deficit. Why is Washington Heights area of Sebring still shut off from the most direct route for emergency care? This has always been a question to me and no one has provided a logical answer. Why was this not considered a problem when they planned the construction of the Sebring Parkway? Now I don't live in this area but I do have children that live in the area and I pray to God nothing ever happens to one of them where they need emergency care and it's delayed because they're shut off from the most direct route to the hospital. It didn't take the county long to tear up Kenilworth Boulevard and have it back in operation, but Highlands Avenue that leads into the Washington Heights area has been shut down for months, maybe even close to a year. ...more

It's very disturbing when you're always reading about the common man-woman losing their jobs. What makes it worse, you read about the government bailing all these big companies out of their financial problems. Where is the government for the real workers? They should be considered before the big companies. It isn't the common workers' fault the bosses miss-managed funds and only looked out for themselves. ...more

Now that Obama has won the Democratic nomination for president, it's time for the Democrats and undecided Independents to either support him or whoever they choose to, but it's not time to attempt anything harmful to him or his family because of the color of his skin. He has proven, at least to me, that he has the knowledge and the capability to surround himself with the right people to win over not only the black voters' support but white and younger Americans, too. The time has come, and we must realize that a person's color and or heritage doesn't disqualify him from being intelligent and capable of running this country. ...more
