Dean Johnson wrote a letter blaming liberal Democrats for the rising price of gasoline. This is an example of the blind partisanship that is partly responsible for the trouble we're in. At least since the '70s, we've known that foreign oil would be a problem for us. But as Fox News pointed out, the first offshore oil ban was passed during the Reagan Administration. Then the senior President Bush, followed by Clinton and the current President Bush, all issued executive orders banning offshore drilling. Jeb Bush, meanwhile, prevailed on his brother to re-purchase existing offshore oil leases in 2002, shutting down any chance that there would be offshore drilling in Florida. ...more

This references Dean Johnson's Dec. 6 letter and Billy Raymond's Dec. 15 letter, subject "I agree." Apparently both of these gentlemen are convinced that it does not matter whatever mankind does here on earth, it will not affect the climate or result in global warming, because "God controls the world's temperature, not man. God controls the climate, the earth's ecosystem, and our environment." So, I guess we do not have to be concerned about excess vehicle emissions and smog affecting the climate or ecosystem. We can dump our batteries, paints, acids, oils, nuclear waste, etc. into our landfills, because "God controls our ecosystem, not man." In view of the above covenants stated by the two writers, if the recent California fires, which destroyed thousands of acres, was caused by arson and there is any resulting ecosystem damage, we cannot hold the arsonist responsible, we must hold God accountable. It should be noted that Mr. Johnson has previously stated he believes that "global warming is the biggest hoax." ...more

As one who has preached the gospel for over 40 years, I could not agree more with Dean Johnson's letter of Dec. 6 concerning global warming. Dean writes: "God controls the world's temperature not man. God controls the climate, the earth's eco-system and our environment, not man. Dean questions why evangelical Christians are caught up in trying to save the earth. I also question that. The one verse of Scripture, known by more people than any other, is John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life." The word "world" does not refer to the planet earth but "people." God has called Christians to save people from their sins not to save this earth. ...more

Froma Harrop, in her column "Democrats Are Normal People," takes Newt Gingrich to task for calling Democrats "the enemies of normal people." She went on to say, "Democrats have emerged as the champions of horse sense and competent government." When the Iranians grabbed our embassy and our people, then President Jimmy Carter showed "horse sense" and allowed them to be held for 444 days thus showing the world that we were cowards and wouldn't fight back. These Democrats worship at the altar of secular humanism. Their most sacred sacrament is to preserve the perceived right of a woman to have her baby slaughtered as 41 million have been killed since 1973. The second most sacred sacrament is to promote and support homosexuals and lesbian, gay marriage and all other deviant lifestyles. ...more

It appears that the Democrats have a certain loathing for our military as well as our country. They are now working diligently to surrender to our enemies. It appears that Randy Ludacer is helping them in their effort by making fun of Gen. Petraeus' decorations. Maybe he thinks that these ribbons and decorations just jump up on his jacket by themselves and do not mean anything. Maybe he thinks they are like a tie pin that he could purchase at a department store or have been the prize in a box of crackerjacks. Every one of the pins and decorations means something and were earned. In other words, they are not "welfare." Of course Democrats wouldn't understand earning something as opposed to having it handed to them for their vote. ...more
