Josh Dobbie doesn't even have a bio in Florida State's media guide, but the junior walk-on receiver has something a lot of players with bios don't have: playing time this season. The Bloomingdale High grad made his FSU debut in the second half of Saturday's victory against UAB, used primarily as a blocker on four plays. For someone who hadn't played in a game since he was at Army in 2005, Dobbie was grateful for the opportunity, especially with his parents, John and Darcy, at the game. ...more

At halftime of Saturday's 34-24 victory against UAB, Florida State redshirt junior Jamaal Edwards owned nine career carries - eight in his freshman season of 2004 and one in the first half. Edwards then had 11 carries in the second half, splitting the workload with Marcus Sims when starter Antone Smith suffered a concussion in the third quarter. ...more

University of Florida coach Urban Meyer said Sunday that he can't remember having so many weapons on offense. The sixth-ranked Gators may need every one, because Meyer sounded concerned about his defense the day after a 49-3 win against Western Kentucky that was abbreviated by heavy lightning. ...more
