On March 14, Beta Sigma Phi (Xi nu Sigma) sorority sponsored and put on the Relay for Life Survivor Luncheon in Avon Park. We would like to thank all of the following people who helped and supported us in making the luncheon a success. This was the first time the sorority has been in charge of the Survivor Luncheon. The children's choir at Saint Anne Roman Catholic Church, Les Petits Chanteurs de Sainte Anne, which means "Saint Anne's Little Singers" in French, sang and signed "Silent Night" at a special Mass for families on Christmas Eve. Wayne Warren, director of music, conducted them, with the help of Cindy Cyman, director of religious education. Parishioner Bridget Cassese taught the kids sign language. ...more

Dee Dee Montana, Sun City Center resident, recently pledged Xi Xi Omicron chapter of Beta Sigma Phi International sorority. The pledge ritual was held at the home of Pat Pelton and was followed by a business meeting on October 9. Beta Sigma Phi is an international women's sorority founded 75 years ago by Walter W. Ross. For those who don't, here's the list OCTOBER The Apple Festival SEBRING The Palms of Sebring retirement community will hold its 12th annual Apple Festival Oct. 2, 3, and 4 in a different location this year. Due to renovations at the Palms of Sebring, this year's event will at Blough Hall at the Church of the Brethren, which is across the street from the Palms of Sebring, on the corner of Oak Avenue and South Pine Street.
