Once again the crusading St. Pete Pravda strikes out boldly, with a front page story (March 29) about how "young patients" are being denied mind-numbing drugs (paid for by you and me), which places a terrible burden on "loving" mothers, "caring" teachers, and society in general. Baloney! ...more

President Barack Obama and his administrative cronies held over from the Clinton years must believe that we Americans are incapable of doing math. Or maybe they believe we are so unsophisticated and uneducated that we'd fall for smoke and mirrors and a booming oratorical voice. After all, we go over to Europe and all we can say is "merci beaucoup." ...more

Unlike Rush Limbaugh, we don't want President Barack Obama to fail. If he does, then our country fails. We do, however, want Obama to do what he's been saying all along, and that's to change the way Washington, D.C., does business - and that includes changing the baloney that's going on with Democratic members of Congress. ...more

Can $780 billion stimulate our nation's economy? Let's pray that's the case, because right now we are in bad shape. Anyone who doesn't think our country isn't in dire straights hasn't been affected, at least not at a serious level where they are facing foreclosure or something worse. But they will be soon. ...more

Forget for a moment that our country's economy is sinking. Forget that we have two wars going on. Forget that people are out of work, losing their homes and struggling to get by. Our Congress cranked out legislation Wednesday to postpone changing the nation's TV signals to digital until June 12. Thank goodness they came to our rescue! ...more

Enough of this baloney about $75 an hour for auto workers. My father and brother are retired auto workers. They don't make, nor have they ever made, anything close to that kind of a wage. The $75 an hour story has been debunked by the mainstream TV news outlets but newspapers don't investigate and report anymore. They only re-report and the $75 an hour story sells papers. If, as stated, the autoworkers' wages add 10 percent to the cost of an American auto, why do competing Japanese cars cost 10 percent more for comparable American models? ...more

I have sat back long enough. I can't take it anymore. So here goes ... wake up America! For the last eight years we have suffered through George W. Bush fighting a war that clearly was a waste of lives to our brave men and women. He was looking for WMD's or his misguided delusions instead of going after the "real" terrorists. It's a war we cannot win. This, no less, is right in the Bible! So now what? How about a change? Oh, I know we can't trust Obama right? How about McCain and his Palin? Now my point is, if Obama was named, say, Barry Jones, and had endorsed the same ideas that he has, he would be thought of as the next JFK. Do we really want four more years of the same old Republican baloney? I sure don't. ...more
