Today I received a letter from someone who calls herself Abbie. I believe this is the second letter I've gotten from the mysterious Abbie. I suppose Abbie was upset about something I wrote to the Editor. At any rate, Abbie didn't bother to give me her return address; perhaps she had not the courage to do so. Daisy has a new friend. Thanks to 5-year-old Allison "Allie" Blain of Temple Terrace, All Children's Specialty Care Clinic on Bruce B. Downs Boulevard recently welcomed a new teaching dummy named Donald. He now shares center stage at the facility with Daisy, a fellow instructional puppet and bosom buddy with Allie and many of its other young patients. ...more

Let me be the first to say a huge thank you to the Miracle League of Lake Placid. This baseball league allows children, young adults, and adults , with disabilities, to play baseball. A "Meet and Greet" was held on Saturday, Oct. 6. The games start on Oct. 13. Upon arrival, we were met by a group of baseball players from SFCC. The team and coach were there to pitch, run and just help whenever someone needed them. The number of young people who were there as buddies, volunteers and coaches was overwhelming.
