The Pasco County School District is working out a plan to set things right after an audit showed 43 employees have been either paid too much or too little over the years. Some of the errors date back to the 1980s. The total amount overpaid to 17 employees was $120,398. The total amount underpaid to 26 employees was $143,866. The district has about 10,000 employees. In most cases, the pay mistakes happened because the employees were given credit for too much or too little experience when they were hired or when they moved to a different position. Things look promising this summer for those who love the taste of bay scallops. The season opened Tuesday, and the annual scallop survey conducted by the Florida Wildlife Research Institute in St. Petersburg showed numbers at least doubling in some areas since last year.
