HIGH SCHOOL GOLFER HOLDS ONE SHOT ADVANTAGE

Amelia Lewis is making quite an impression in her first appearance in the Harder Hall Women's Invitational.

The 17-year-old golfer from Jacksonville shot a 4-under-par 68 on Thursday for a two-day total of 139 and holds a one-shot lead over Auburn University junior Candace Schepperle, who had rounds of 71-69-140. Whitney Neuhauser is in third place at 141, while Cindy LaCrosse is fourth with a 143 and first-round leader Annette Hill is fifth at 145 along with Holly Clyburn, who had the low round of the day with a 5-under par 67.

Daniela Lendl is at 146, while Christy Carter and Jessica Korda are tied at 147.

In the Ben Roman Division, which is for handicaps 7-24, Clate Aydlett leads with a 155, while Sue Joy-Sobota and Nancy Jankovic are tied at 158.

The 72-hole tournament runs through Saturday at Harder Hall Country Club.
