Kirk Veley had 22 points and Andre Wilson added 16 more on Saturday night to led the Lake Placid boys basketball team to a 69-35 victory over Walker Memorial Academy.
The Dragons led early, taking a 19-6 lead after one quarter and a 38-15 lead at the half.
"We jumped out on them pretty quick," said LP coach Kirk Veley.
Travalier Sholtz added 11 points, while Devanta Fleming added nine points.
The Dragons were back in action on Monday night against Avon Park (see Wednesday's Highlands Today for complete coverage).
Lake Placid returns to district play on Friday, when it hosts Frostproof. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
