Every South Florida Community College starter got at least one hit as the Panthers blasted South Carolina Sumter by a score of 13-1 on Saturday in Jacksonville.
Former Sebring standout Adam Simmons picked up the win with six innings of one-run ball, while Matt Fuglesang earned the save with three scoreless innings of relief.
SFCC, the sixth-ranked team in the state, improved to 10-1.
"The weather changed our schedule several times today but our guys stayed locked in and played very well," said Panther coach Rick Hitt. "South Carolina Sumter is an outstanding club and our guys were looking forward to playing them.
"We came out with an outstanding effort."
Austin Gaines went 3-for-4 with a home run and Ryan Williams had a homer.
SFCC was back on the field on Sunday against Florida Junior College to complete their three-day road trip.
"The challenge for us is to get out of bed and try and put together another quality effort on the last day of our road trip," said Hitt.
Results were not available at press time.
South Florida is back on the diamond today with an away game at Webber International University at 6 p.m.
