The foursome of Ennis Caldwell, Allan Price, Gary Williams and Brian Menard fired a 59 and won a three-way playoff to claim first-place honors at the 18th annual Brad Doty Memorial Children's Christmas Golf Classic on Saturday afternoon.
Their 18-hole score of 59 was matched by two teams - the foursome of Jimmy Tsakalos, Frank Guglielmi, Babovins Yianni and Greg Long, and the quartet of Dale Anderson, Charlie Anderson, Alvin Walters and Chris Holland.
But the Caldwell-led team prevailed in the A-flight after a match of cards.
The teams' 13-under total was particularly impressive given the wind-swept conditions at Sebring Golf Course, which had another strong turnout.
In the B-flight, the foursome of Kip Doty, Lars Bylund, Ricky Hayes and Jim Baker shot a sizzling 56 to win by four strokes.
Kevin Roberts, Andrew Katsanis, Eric Zwayer and Clint Zwayer finished second after a 60, and Warren Watt, Corey Watt, Nate Cervantes and Nick Maloyed carded a 62 and came in third after a match of cards.
Scores were slightly higher in the C-flight, with the team of John Danko, Theresa Danko, Larry Miesner and Gail Whitting placing first after a 62.
The second- and third-place teams were determined after a match of cards, with Ken Danielson, Jimmy Goins, Brett Goldmen and James Goins shooting a 64 to place second.
The Doty trio of Jim, John and Chris - with Glen Kundrick rounding out the foursome - came in third after a 64.
Pat Dell used an 8-iron to record a hole-in-one on the par-3 16th hole - the second ace of his career, and his first in 40 years. Also winning closest-to-the-pin honors: Nate Cervantes (No. 3) and Greg Roberts (Nos. 5 and 11).
Cervantes also had the longest drive on No. 8, while Greg Vineberg's tee shot on the 17th hole was the farthest. Pete Coughlin drained the longest putt on the 13th hole.
