MULBERRY - Yuribia Terrones scored a goal and assisted on another in the Lake Placid girls soccer team's 2-0 win over Mulberry on Tuesday night.
Terrones, who played midfield because coach John Merlo wanted to "tinker with everything a little bit," scored about 20 minutes into the match. And right before the half, she assisted freshman Michelle Hunter, who knocked in a goal to give the Green Dragons a 2-0 lead heading into the second half.
Merlo said he was pleased with the play of goalie Sarah Thompson, who turned away three good shots to preserve the victory.
"Another good district win for us," Merlo said. "We dominated the whole game, and had the ball on our side most of the night."
Lake Placid will travel to play Avon Park at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
