LAKE PLACID - Avon Park's defense scored two touchdowns on Friday night to lead the Red Devils to a 13-7 victory over cross-county rival Lake Placid in each team's spring game at Roger Scarborough Memorial Field.

Red Devil sophomore defensive end Robert Cabrera scored on a 13-yard fumble recovery in the first half to give AP a 6-0 lead. Green Dragon running back Zach Campbell then scored on a 1-yard run to give the Green Dragons a 7-6 halftime lead.

But AP's defense struck again in the third, this time on a 37-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown by junior defensive end Steven Johnson to give the Devils their first victory under first-year head coach Andy Bonjokian.
