Avon Park didn't muster the firepower to match host Okeechobee in a 13-2 loss in the Dixie 13-year-old boys District 8 tournament at Okeechobee Sports Complex on Saturday.
A seven-run fifth inning buried Avon Park, who weren't as sharp as the already-tested host squad.
Avon Park's MJ Rhoden accounted for both runs, as he scored on a passed ball and drew a bases loaded walk in the fifth that plated Steven Flowers.
Avon Park will try and stave off elimination when they face off against arch-rival Sebring at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
