EAST LAKELAND - Sebring's season came to an earlier than expected end, as they lost 7-2 to top-seeded Poinciana in the second round of the Dixie Youth Majors (ages 11-12) state tournament in East Lakeland on Sunday.

Garrett Deross hit a solo homer to center field to tie the game at one after the first inning, but Poinciana took the lead for good on Tony Lima's two run blast in the third and held off Sebring for the win.

Lake Placid rebounded from yesterday's 12-run defeat to pound Malone 10-0 in a four-inning, mercy-rule victory to stay alive in the state tournament.

LP exploded for eight runs in the opening frame and Tyler Carr and Heath Harris combined for a no-hitter and gave up just three walks to eliminate Malone from the tourney.

Next, Lake Placid will face West Volusia National at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
