SEBRING - The Sebring boys soccer team's postseason run ended on Thursday night with a 1-0 loss to Kathleen (Lakeland) in the regional quarterfinals of the Class 4A regional tournament at Firemen's Field.
The Streaks were hampered by a first-half injury to leading scorer and senior Daniel Grimaldo, who hurt his knee in the opening 10 minutes and didn't return until the 56th minute.
Sebring, however, had its chances late, earning multiple corner kicks and free kicks, but the Red Devil defense held off the Streaks and sent Kathleen into the Regional semifinals.
It was the first-ever home regional match for the Streaks, who won the school's first-ever boys soccer district title last week.
