AVON PARK - Derrick McKenzie scored 11 points in the fourth quarter and the Avon Park boys basketball team outscored Hardee 19-6 in the final frame as the Red Devils ran away with a 59-45 victory over the Wildcats on Tuesday night.
Cleveland Nobles led the Red Devils with 15 points, while Virgil Cooper added 14 points.
Ricky Taylor added 10 points, while Xavier Caldwell chipped in seven points and 11 rebounds.
Avon Park was down one point at half and led by one heading into the fourth.
The Red Devils travel to Frostproof on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
