Local Shufflers Among Top Finishers

SEBRING - It was a strong showing for local shufflers at the annual Orange Blossom shuffleboard tournament, which finished up play on Thursday at the Sebring Recreation Club.

The team of Bernie Baumgartner and Dave Wenger took second place among the men in the main event, while Sebring's Ed Straub and John Bushee took fourth place.

In the consolation bracket, Avon Park's Bill Pollock, along with partner Roy Norman, took second place.

On the women's side, Avon Park's Nicole Archambault and partner Roberta Day finished third in the main event, while Avon Park's Martine Vermeire and partner Ruth Brown of Pioneer Creek took second in the consolation bracket.

Meanwhile, Betty Baumgartner of Sebring and Esther Bryson of Avon Park took fourth in the consolation event.
