SEBRING -- The 14th annual Thakkar and Thakkar Mixed Doubles Tennis Classic came off without a hitch over the weekend at the Thakkar Tennis Complex at the Country Club of Sebring clay courts.
The two-day event attracted 32 mixed double teams that competed in three different flights.
The A Flight was won by the duo of Janet Regan and Eugene Bengston, who defeated Sandy Hollinger and Dr. Vinod Thakkar, 7-6, 7-6.
Sydney Miller and Mike Rafferty won the B Flight by outlasting Jaci and Chuck Lyons, 4-6, 6-4, 7-5.
In the C Flight, Mary Linsley and Chick Regan defeated Mary and Joe Martin, 6-4,6-4.
Additionally, the new elected officers of the Highlands County Tennis Association are Wes Hollan, Sue Grady, Bob More, Jaci Lyons, Chuck Lyons, Bobby Fulcher, Lynda Fulcher and Dr. Vinod Thakkar.
